| Just found this site -- I was in the RAMC 1955-58 and was moved to BMH Berlin Spandau Path Lab from BMH Munster -- I was not there very long as I was moved to BMH Iserlohn. We had a German Technician working in the Path Lab. One day i had a call to go to the 'Haunted Gallery' where Coffins were stored to find 'Sergeant's Steel's NOSE tip !! He had got drunk , broken a window in the Gallery and as he was shouting down to his Mates cut off the tip of his nose on the broken glass !! I was handed a large Torch -- it was really scary up there-- but I found the broken window and in the torchlight a bloody object which I carefully picked up in Cotton Wool and took it down to A&E ---He had it stitched on -- then I was moved so had to escort him to Hanover through the Russian Zone at night -- all scary with huge Russians checking our passes and on to Hanover Station hand him over to waiting ambulance then on to Iserlohn in the British Zone where I finished out my 3 years in September 1958 age 21.
