| As was mine Barney,4 November 1974. A thing that amused me that when she graduated she had a job as an area manager with NAAFI in Germany, she took driving lessons and passed her test with a German driving school,so she ended up with a German licence stating place of birth as Hannover, probably the best English speaking German in the country. | |

| When we were posted to Fallingbostel (Royal Hussars) one of the first jobs I was given was to "find the hospital". Yes drive to Hannover and find the hospital. Slight problem being that I'd never been to Hannover and I had no directions and no map.
Several hours later I arrived back to report I had been unable to locate it suprise suprise> They repeated this task a few days later and growing tired of this game I resorted to having to ask a number of taxi drivers.
At a later date I had a massive bollocking off a Matron when after getting lost in the hospital she loomed up on me uttering what are you doing here! I'd ended up on the wrong ward after reception mis-directed me. | |

| My youngest SHOULD have been born at BMH Hannover but the heating packed up, (Jan 1971), so the Yugoslav ambulance driver had to go to Rinteln. The maternity unit was a total disgrace.

| Hi, when we were living in Hannover, 1948-49, my Dad caught typhoid fever and spent weeks in BMH. The resulting mass-innocculation of the entire British forces and families in Hannover made the name of Sgt. B. Precious very unpopular! At the same time I had my tonsils removed in RMH, a week's stay at that time. When my sister Maureen was born there on 20th June 1948, Mum spent a full 3 weeks in hospital. These long stays were normal in the early days after the war, because of the fear of infection I suppose. Would love to hear from anyone who remembers the typhoid incident. Anni | |

To get just one Military hospital up to standard that they were, would take about 15 years. The RAMC members still meet very two years over a long weekend. Our last reunion was in 2010 and nearly 500 of us attended over. The next is in Feb 2012. Every year a lot of us attend the sports day for the medic and todays young medics love to hear about the old days. Silky |

| I once visited a mate who was laid up in BMH Hannover, other than that I don't think I had much to do with the place. My son was born in BMH Rinteln and my daughter in BMH Munster, both were very good. | |
