Think you will find its called HAREWOOD, if its of any interest to you there is a Herforder Association, mostly Signals but a good smattering of other less auspicious units (you know REME, RE's etc, that should stir the pot), Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HF-R-Sigs/?yguid=291356013

I got there in March '52 as part of the advance party of 6 Armoured Div .. it was the home of 11 Armoured Div at the time and us Mailed Fist guys got a stony reception from the locals .. we were advised to go out in groups of 3 or 4, not on our own .. some of the pubs were really anti social .. 'no Tommies here' .. try to order a pint and you were ignored or they couldn't understand our German .. but I hear from the boys who came after us that the animosity died away and it became such a good posting that many of my on line buddies live there and many go back every year for a re union .. I guess it was still close to the end of the war and there was a lot of bitter memories on both sides .. water under the bridge ..
