Subject: Tie Search..... 24/6/2022, 13:09
Hi everyone
I have joined this forum as I am trying to find a tie for my dad..... He asked me to look for a tie and the only details he gave me:- 1 br corps blue tie with multi red diamond with white spear head motif He doesn't have computer and has no idea how internet works
I googled this and it did show a plaque with said white spear head and that was it.....I found BAOR sites and found nothing there He bought the original tie many many years ago near London barracks but lost it and is trying to replace.
Spoke to dad this morning - he was based in Bielefeld in 1963 - in REME I think
Can anyone help, or suggest ? Many thanks

The formation ceased to exist in 1993 - seems as if only source of neckties now is, potentially, e bay, or wardrobe of a former member. It would seem the REME Museum has/had a display covering REME LAD at HQ 1 BR Corps.

Here's another idea: an old friend served in RCEME (the Canadian version of REME). He was a member of the corps association, and had purchased a tie through their kit shop. Unfortunately, he died last year so I can't get any information, however a search of the RCEME Association web site may help you find what you want. Good hunting.

I guess I should have checked the RCEME kit shop web site before I made the suggestion. They have one tie on display, and it's certainly not the tie I remember (blue, gold and red vertical stripes) The current version has maple leaves along with the corps badge scattered through it, so it won't be what you're looking for. Sorry.
