I knew quite a few people who went there, one was Tommy Brackley, he was a tall pale lad with a shock of unruly black hair.

His Father was the Bandmaster of 1 LF.

My sister Mary McLaren went to Hamm at about the same time as you Jean, my folks were also in Osnabruk at the time.

I was an Osnabrücker in Caernarvon House 1974-77. Very Happy

I was a day pupil at Windsor Boys School, Hamm, circa 1958-59. My Dad was a C/Sgt with Northamptonshire Regt, but was seconded as Chief Clerk to Station Staff Officer - Dortmund.

I have memories of Windsor School, although I was only there for a year or so. We wore claret coloured blazers. There is a website for old pupils of the school, I think.

Further re the Windsor School..it is now no more, no more Brit kids there anyway. They might have even demolished the joint. Shocked

I think originally it was a German Army Barracks, then the British Army took it over in the early 1950's as a boarding and day school for 'army brats' like me and thousands of others. cheers

I too was a pupil at Hamm, Caernarvon House again, 1961-62. It has now been totally demolished after having been, I believe a refugee camp for a number of years after it closed as a school.

All of you exwindsor boys and girls......one of our fellow pupils has just posted new photos on the internet mainly of Soest married quarters.
There are also new photos of WBS which is now totally demolished except for the Dining Block.
