old soldiers from Alpha Checkpoint

Hi!I am an american who was stationed at AlphaCheckpoint back in 1960 to 62.One of my British friends was named McCauley The names of the others I cannot say just now.I will post a photo showing me with one of our customs MP´s and the British MP who pulled duty the day the photo was taken.I am interested in contacting any who might remember me.I am living here in germany for 44 years now.Maybe someone will remember me as a cook in the Gateway Club.In the meentime have a nice day.Albin Kraemer

Is this the Check Point Alpha as in the link? If so I visited the plce a couple of years ago, what an eyeopener super place.

this is a simple link to Checkpoint Alpha. It haschanged a lot since 1989 but there is museum in the old DDR checking area. The Soviet military checkpoint has been demolished. It is possible to see the old 'village' for the DDR checkpoint personnel who were isolated from both FRG and DDR populations due to possible 'corruption' by contact with undesirable Western influences.

Nice to see you on the site Albin I am hoping to visit Berlin some time I will see if I can visit said location.
