| Reading about the queens jubilee parade 1977 brought back memories of a similar parade held in the early 60s (62 - 65).It was also held at Sennelager with the queen in attendance.. What the occasion was escapes me.... Any takers??? |

What the occasion was escapes me.... Any takers??? I had a look about to see if I could find anything, but nothing definite shows up at present. There is a photograph of a parade, but it is argued that it may, or may not, have been in Sennelager. Have a look at this page:- http://www.canadianguards.ca/parade.htmCould the parade you mention have been the arrival of the Canadians, or possibly the departure of the Danes or Norwegians?? Paul.

Found this on a long disbanded site.
See"Centurions". for new photograph. This was taken at a huge parade in front of HM Queen Elizabeth on Sennelager airstrip. The year is circa 1964/65. |

| Thats a blast from the past,I was there with 1R.Hamps,forgotten about it till now. I remember the weather was warm and we were fed and watered from a series of tents set up next to the coach/lorry park,I expect it was also the forming up point for the parade. | |

Klara his wife was still talking about it when I went back in 1969
