Disposals Organisation, Hamm‏

Does anybody out there have any photographs or further information about the above please? Ilived in Hamm from 1963 until 1966 while my late father was working at the Disposals Organisation in Mark, Hamm. I remember playing there as a 10 year old and the place being full of old Army lorries, tin helmets, Bayonets, the lot!!Absolute heaven for lads of my age. Since my Dad died in 2001 I am writing a family history and would love to find out some further info. His name was Dennis Nicholson and I think his grade in the Civil Service was EO. Does anyone remember him? Thanks Rob

Good to see you are still going. I'm housebound now but hope to be out and about later this year.
I tried to get photos but no-one had any. Shame because that was an interesting area. Remember the siren that went off every day?
The old Maximillian coal mine next door is now a nature reserve and all things eco.
I remember your father; my father and mother both passed away a while back.
