Len, we had a similar description going for the Gunner badge. The Crown that was never worn, the Wheel that never turned, the Gun that was never fired, the Grass that never grew and erm..........can't remember the last one. Any suggestions for the good and benefit of the Mess, Brum? Embarassed

You'll notice the resemblance of mine to Teabags. Still that was not our first hat badge. Talking about Brasso. I just finished Brassoing a WW 1 badge and collar dog ( 4 Railway Battalion Cdn)

You've reminded me of a time when, as a young recruit, I was travelling home, on leave, in uniform. I was sitting on the bus when a woman said "oh are you in the army ? I've got a brother in the army (gave his name) do you know him ?

The first question i was normally asked when arriving home on leave was "When do you go back?"
