| I am worried about this, as it takes a few reminders to renew before a URL is blocked. The site is safe as far as I know, its just the paid URL that needs renewing. My BAOR-Locations e-mail sub-account is showing the following message: - Quote :
- Unable to send or receive messages for the BAOR-Locations (mike) account. We could not sign you in to Windows Live Mail because there is a problem with your Windows Live ID.
Server Error: 0x80048826 Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048826 and I am unable to log into the account at editors level. The registration cost is $50 a year (or $180 for 5 years) which I have never seen Phil asking for help with. I for one am willing to donate towards the renewal costs.

| I'm getting the same message. Like you I would be willing to help if I could. I am worried that the message on site invites non-owners of the domain to take it over. I am hoping that Phil or Paul are on top of this. There is a lot of history to lose there. | |

| Dear All, As you may have noticed the site has gone down. This is entirely my own fault due to a lack of commitment. This has also caused all the editor's email accounts to be cancelled and their contents, including much hard work, is now lost. I apologise for this. When I first started the site my situation was very much different from that of today. I was not a father and had lots of time and very little responsibility. As my free time became few and far between and the weight of responsibility became heavier, Paul stepped up and essentially run the site; ensuring it was updated regularly and that the forum was monitored. We also managed to recruit further editors in order to share the workload. But as I said earlier, my commitment to the site has not been what it should be. It is due to become much worse as I will be in a position for an extended period of time where internet is not available. The obvious conclusion to all this is that somebody in a better position (most probably retired) needs to take over my role as administrator. Those who follow the site deserve somebody who is capable to show the dedication in which I am unfortunately incapable of. I will endeavour to get the site back up and running and re-establish the email addresses and editing rights for those who it is applicable to. I would also be happy to continue as an editor and contributor. Should you feel capable of performing the task of administrator, then please send a personal message on the forum. I apologise again for letting all of you down, but for the website and the followers best interests there needs to be change. | Phil, you've nothing to beat yourself up about. It is still a brilliant site and I'm sure that somebody out there can help. I wish I had the time. I am still willing to help in an editorial way if needed. And for any future webmaster I meant what I said about donating if needed/wanted. | |

| Same here Phil I will help where I can. fortunately I download my e-mails to my PC via Windows Live e-mail so have not lost my messages or any work to date.
Just had a look at the site, and all seems in order thankfully, as thats where the bulk of the work lies.
Do not be so hard on yourself mate, as you have done a great job with the site, the only one of its kind.
I have sent you a PM | |

| Kind words there from both; thank you. As Mike said, the site is now up and running again with the alternative ending of .co.uk
It takes a while for it to settle and then I can recreate email addresses for the editors and a form of contact. Not sure which form they will take just yet.
Please bear with me............... | |

| Phil, so glad the site is up and running again, it would be a tragic loss to a bunch of 'old guys' who's names I wont mention. You have nothing to apologize for, you have worked hard and with diligence to host a first class site and I can appreciate how it must have cut into your family life and time. I know I speak for many when I say WELL DONE, and if you think its time you took a rest then that is understandable. If funds are required, although I'm on pension I would be privileged to help. Again, thanks Buddy ..

| Why must you pay so much just to register a TLD. Looking at 'WHO IS' you have registered with LCN and they do a nice 10 year package for 81.60 Euros. A SLD costs almost nothing. And a place on a server some where in the world is also not needed. So why so much???

| Wow! That's a relief. I must admit I went into panic mode when I found out the site was down the other day. Curiously the Domain Name website said that the site had been disabled since the 17th but I found it down before that? Anyhow I am really pleased to see that the site has resurfaced and all that invaluable information has not been lost. On the subject of payment for registration. As so many have said that they are willing to donate, and I would be too, maybe there should be a facility to make a donation (perhaps via PayPal) or create a paid membership category which would allow those who have donated/paid access to a members only area of the site? Just a thought. As for Phil no longer having the time to devote to the site, fully understood. He has done a fantastic job developing the site to it's present state and I'm pretty sure that we are all grateful for that. Unfortunately I can't put my hat in the ring as administator as I also don't currently have the time to fully dedicate to the task, although that may change during the next year. I would however be happy to help as an editor if required. Thanks again Phil Cheers Mike | |

| I have now taken over the duties as the BAOR-Locations 'Point of Contact' for e-mails & messages while Phil remains Webmaster and in overall control.
I along with the other Editors have been granted full administrators rights so we are able to run both the site & forum on a day to day basis leaving Phil more time and provide a safety net for when Phil is not available.
As you may have already noticed the Web Site is now .co.uk instead of .com and this has reduced registration costs for little or no inconvenience. Those viewers who have/had the site bookmarked will soon find the new address vis here or Goggle.
So its business as usual with a joint support team to keep things running.
