Ayrshire South, Moenchengladbach

I notice on the site that there is no date for 14 Independent Topographic Squadron moving to Ayrshire South Park; I joined the Squadron in 1995 the week after they handed over Roy Barracks and took up 'residence' in Ayrshire, although the single soliders lived on JHQ with SNCOs and Offrs in their respective ARRC Mess.

The squadron deployed to Bosnia from December 1995 to July 1996, plus later deployments to Kosovo and Op TELLIC as a formed unit (plenty of individuals deployed on detachments since the early 1990s)

A long time ago that this was posted but I thought I'd reply now I've seen it!

I cant remember when that was but do remember helping my Dad move stuff. Must have been late summer? He moved back to the UK shortly after (may have been the last thing he did at 14 topo) as he retired around that time and my Brother and I spent the rest of the academic year boarding at JHQ. Memory is going (and I'm not that old!) so cant remember the exact dates but I know my Dad was miffed because he was the family liaison officer when they deployed to Bosnia, I assume he didn't go with the unit because he was retiring (i'll have to ask him). He was attached to the UN/NATO in '93 and so was one of the individuals you mentioned. We still lived in the quarters in Dusseldorf until Christmas '95 (I think- may have been just after).
