Just looking at a piece of WW2 archive footage and some PRONTO types are erecting aerials.
Their shoulder titles say "Royal Corps of Signals".
Bit long - winded, I thought.

Yes Gordon, that's the one. I should have been more accurate. I was going on memory rather than Wiki. I think in addition to his write up, he played rugby union for the Army and England and was also one time Governor of Western Australia 1963-74.

'Gooners' isn't that a supporter of Arsenal Football Club. A play on 'Gunners' (according to Wiki), but never heard it applied to Royal Signals.
