I SERVED WITH 4 GDS ARMD BDE & SIG SQN IN YORK BARRACKS FROM 1974 - 1977 AT 40 AEC [ARMY EDUCATION CENTRE] - SADLY MISSING FROM YOUR UNIT LISTING. AT XMAS 1978, THE BRIGADIER [ DESMOND LANGLEY] SENT A CARD TO US - 40 ARMY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE - WE WERE REALLY INVOLVED WITH THEATRES, LECTURES ETC AND PLAYED IN OR COACHED SEVERAL SPORTS TEAMS. Wey Hey I remember the Education center in York Barracks.... I was in the Signal Squadron block across the road from yourselfs my office looked onto your buildins main entrance. The Royal Engineers Postal and Courier Unit were located on the lower floor from yourselves. Right I have a very good friend up here in the North East of England. He too served in the A.E.C. his name Tim Bevan possibly you know each other...

Hi there I was station at York barracks in 1981-83 attached to 204 (armoured brigade) signal squadron as I was in the Royal Pioneer Corps. I went back to Munster last Christmas

Bobwa I was there left August 81... Two RPC lads I recall. Cpl Geordie Waugh (Sqn Armoury) and a L/Cpl Paddy Whats his name??? Theres a chance you worked under the SQMS S/Sgt ***** -Lloyd. a double barrled name. Williams comes to mind Lloyd-Williams ?
I enjoyed my time in York Bks from 1977-81.

Hi Advent, I'm not sure abut Cpl Geordie Waugh, the armour when I was there was a Cpl Dennis Whitker, and the SQMS was a S/Sgt Lloyd-Williams. I was there with pte (l/Cpl) Mark Lines, pte William Slim,

Possibly Geordie Waugh had left the unit and Dennis Whittaker I do recall. SQMS Lloyd -Williams he changed his Surname through marriage to Dewanz. I believe its a South African name. I have a link to an image of Geordie Waugh entertaining our 3 year old son. This image was taken at a Flat Party in Peterbucher back in December 1979.

Hi Advent the picture has come out on your list, but having seen the picture he looks familiar to one who was on exercise with us, he was stationed at Bunde and he spent the entire exercise sleep on the shelf in the front of the 4 tonner that Dennis Whitaker was driving. But I may have him confused with someone else.
