Mike I'm not sure either, but I would hate to miss some info on that basis though. I have a couple that want to remain anonymous. [/quote] I have just uploaded 2 photos of Belfast barracks Osnabruck could some one let me know if they are on site Brian

| Hi Chaps
This is really for teabag
As a very new (old) member I think the site is great, have been trawling through all the pages I can, picking up on things of interest, there is one thing however, I did read amongst the pages about trying to help people trying to find loved one relatives etc, I have also seen in a lot of cases where you can you try to guide them to a web address, as I feel these bits of info are probably very helpful, when they are put on site would it not be possible to put them in some kind of bank so that when these people came to the site for info, instead of trawling through hundreds of entries they could just look down a list. May not be possible for lots of reasons, but just a thought
Thanks for a great site | |

Ah, it's not just me then ! I've been trying to send a couple of articles in for a while now but have had no success. (There used to be an excellent website called "artillery-friends" that suddenly collapsed, it would be tragic to see this one go the same way).

| It would be a disaster if this Site disappeared, I was on a OCA Site where the Mod unfortunately passed away, he had all the Passwords etc which went with him. Anyone got any ideas how to prevent this? | |

| Good morning Gordon and all Mike_2817 is the Guard Commander I’m the NCO IC marching relief’s and to be honest do not have the knowledge to manage the forum...regarding BAOR Locations just an editor and will try and update the main site when free time is available but I’m still working full time...have contacted Mike privately and awaiting a reply will also get in touch with Webmaster Phil as believe more editors are needed to work on transferring detail and images to the main site from the forum Best regards Steve | |

| Hello all, Sorry I have been AWOL but life has been overtaking my various activities of late, but I am back on-board for at least a few hours a week, which is what I first promised Phil to ensure that the site did not develop any faults, and I have indeed popped in from time to time, but not always logged in.
As Steve says, we need more active editors to help maintain the BAOR site, as numbers have dropped of.
Steve has the same level of password access I have on this site, but it is registered to Webmaster Phil, who also still pays the web fees. I am however able to give others Moderator or Editor Status, But to your credit you are a fairly self disiplened lot, and I wish I could say that of some other forums! _________________ Sua Tela Tonanti

Yes, we ARE quite well-behaved, aren't we ? I wonder if it's an "age" thing ? It's nice to know there is still someone at the helm, Mike. My question is, can I contribute to the "Locations" ? All attempts so far have failed. I have memories of Nienburg and Trauen which may be of some small value.

| It might be appropriate to pay tribute to Mike and Steve for saving this excellent site when Philip, the original webmaster found he no longer had the time to carry out this demanding role following the completion of an important career course, promotion and a posting to a demanding operation role (including Afghanistan), the needs of his young family and his ambition to create a new home (house renovation) for himself and his family.
Thanks to to the General Staff (senior members) who with their tact and good humour keep the junior ranks in order and lob in the occasion hand grenade of a topic when things get slack
Good to that we can attract new contributors from time to time who raise a subject in which we can all identify and contribute. The Tasmania based Ferret Scout Car springs to mind, Bob Ritter,s amazing tales of 27 CIB in Hannover is the latest
Me I lack the computer skills to take on the Editorial tasks, and will have to content myself as a Senior Investicative Reporter to Steve (no phone hacking) as well as carrying out my own researches into favourite subjects such as the BAOR Troop Trains, the BAOR Post Codes, BAOR Rand R which I publish from time to time

| Hi, I am new to this web site. I was searching for historical information on 226 Signals Squadron (Radio) which I served in from 1973 to 1979 at Wesendorf. I was on the formation parade upon the amalgamation with 225 Signals squadron to from 14 Signals Regiment (EW). Is this the place to add information or can you direct me to the appropriate location.
Thank you | |
