Welcome and thank you for the offer
There are a few bits of information on Wesendorf on the Master Data Base which can be found off the Main Page/ Locations Section. However we have a major problem in that this is locked to the current Website Administrators and cannot be added to or amended.
As an interim measure may I suggest you create a new topic in this Forum Section headed 226 Signal Squadron Wesendorf followed by your information. It can then be moved to the correct position at a later date but in the meantime can be read and amended by the current contributors to this site

In my time in Bielefeld there was always a significant RASC Transport Company presence in Catterick Barracks though this varied over the years. It would be helpful to know exactly when your friend was in Bielefeld

| Ya know, this place just gets more mind blowing in any forum. I hope somebody has the sense in London to be saving all this info. I mean if BBC and authors come here for info. then it's where it's happening. | |

I wonder what they make of our peculiar brand of humour ? If they do wonder, it's probably along the lines of : How the hell did the BAOR become a sucess with this lot? And the answer lies in the story of the farmer who was selling a really good looking white arab stallion. As it pranced about the corral it would repeatably run head first into a pole in the middle of the corral. The buyer says, " You're trying to sell me a blind horse". "Nope, he's not blind" says the farmer, " He just doesn't give a F**K". And that my friends explains much of the attitude of the average soldier in BAOR Well that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

| I was trying to find where The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment was posted to in Minden during the period 1958-60 after returning from Malaya. There was no mention on the locations page but I found the following:
Royal Lincolnshire Regiment 10 Sep 58: Sailed from Aden in the 'Devonshire' for UK 1958.10 Germany: Elizabeth Barracks, Minden . 11 Infantry Brigade Group 1960.04 England: Doniford Barracks,Watchett
So they were in Elizabeth Barracks, Minden October 1958 to April 1960.
Sadly I can't remember where I found this information, whether it was on this site or elsewhere. I will continue to rack my brains.
I hope this helps. | |

| With reference to my last. The info about The Royal Lincolnshire Regiment was on:
The Army page entitled British Army Units from 1945 on. I cannot post the link for 7 days but please PM me if you need it before that.
