I remember the Middle east School of Cookery in our camp at Famagusta 1955/7, we all knew when the grub was good, when they had upgrading courses and the food was distributed evenly to the OR's dining room & Sgt's mess.

When I got to the Recruiting Office the first question I was asked was "Can you swim?", to which I replied, rather wittily, I thought, "Why, haven't you got any ******* Boats?" They pointed me in the direction of the Army Office. Surprised

Hennessy will do fine john boy. Talking about drink etc, I remember a Canadian WO1 (Conductor) who used to drink a couple of bottles of canadian vodka during a home film show in the 1st Commonwealth Ind Bde Sgt's mess, out in Korea.
