Looks like a corporal in the Italian Sanitary Corps ! That is surely a contradiction? I see their very distant cousins in Argentina have protested (attacked?) our embassy there. Why do we never get that excited? Can never remember the last embassy stoning I went to. Oi Argies, you were beaten fair and square, get over it!

| Talking about Generals etc, my Son and I noticed the headstones in Arlington Military Cemetery when we were there 2 weeks ago, of no less than five of the nine 5 Star American Military personnel.
They were : Generals of the Army Omar Bradley, Hap Arnold (USAAC then USAAF now USAF), Marshall, Fleet Admirals Halsey & Leahy. Also saw the grave of General of the Armies Pershing. The other 5 star rank personnel not buried at Arlington are Eisenhower, McArthur, and Fleet Admirals Nimitz & King.Arnold was promoted 5 star General twice, once in the USAAF then again in the newly formed USAF in 1947. Finally saw the grave and the bronze statue of Fd Marshal Sir John Dill who died in Washington 1942 whilst serving as Chief of the British Joint Staff Mission. Also saw the grave of Joe Louis, Heavyweight champ.
All useless info but we found it of interest.

| Another capbadge outrage seen today.
Anybody watch "Countryfile" on the Beeb ? (Clock the little blonde with the paratrooper boots - Phwoarr !). They were in the Brecon Beacons, lots of squaddies hobbling around being hounded by Paras.
On comes a Colour Sgt, badge over left eye, "good !" I thought. On comes a Major, badge over left ear. Oh Gawd !
The best of it was though, the paras had smeared their faces with various colours of cam cream, aspiring to merge with the background, no doubt. Then, to complete the transformation, they wedged a nice red beret on their heads.
It's enough to make one join the Catering Corps.
