My Grandad in Hobart Barracks,Detmold-Germany

Is here maybe anyone who might knew my Grandad Sgt Joseph Hughan?During WW2 he was with the RTR`s.My Grandad originally came from Liverpool and served during WW2 as a Sgt with the RTR`s.Due to injury through the war he had to leave the army and worked last in Hobart Barracks as a civi,attached to the army and fixed Helicopters as farest I know.Is here maybe anyone that knew him or might knows where I can find information about him?

hi trish my name is dave,yes iknew joe well and his mate eddie,that was in 1971 when i first got posted to the AAC from the 15/19H. they were both civilian ground handlers there was three germans there as well,joe used to come to work on a moped,every body used to borrow it on thursdays to go to the bank down town, iremember joe as a nice quiet bloke. [good times good memories]

Have you the dates grandad worked with AAC as my wife was for 15years the Technical Librarian of 71 AC WS REME.

Thanx for your replies!i am sorry I havent been on but I have to admit that I kinda forgot about this forum.I have no idea when my grandad exactly worked with the AAC as we know very little.My grandad died 24 years but there are so many questions unanswered.I know that he used to be based in Berlin Spandau during worldwar 2 and I know he used to be a RTR before he had the injury that made it impossible for him to serve in active duty and that he worked in Detmold after!I got pictures of him thou!Maybe your wife would recognise his face?
